Separation & Divorce
We provide advice about separation and the divorce/dissolution process and deal with the issuing and progressing of divorce proceedings.
In almost all cases, divorce and dissolution in England and Wales is an administrative process which takes 6-8 months and neither party will need to attend court. We help with the divorce/dissolution process by drafting all the necessary documents and making sure that it’s handled sensitively and efficiently.
We always offer a fixed fee to cover all procedural aspects of the divorce. This excludes our advice on any financial aspects of your case, or issues relating to children and court fees.
In some cases, you may be able to start divorce proceedings in more than one country. Where this applies, choosing the right jurisdiction can potentially have a very significant impact on you and your family’s financial future.
Divorce laws and procedures vary widely from country to country — even within Europe — particularly when it comes to financial outcomes, timescales and arrangements for children.
Making the right choice early on can therefore be crucial.
We can help you understand your options and guide you towards the jurisdiction that best supports your circumstances and priorities.
In cases like these, timing can be very important, and it is crucial to take early advice to protect your position and provide greater certainty moving forward.
